ABOUT THE ARTIST: 

John Neal Mullican

A lifetime of dedication to art and the love of nature form the foundation of his work. He studied with the masters at the Schuler School of Fine Art developing his classical realistic style. His subjects come from the broad spectrum of wildlife, nature and the environment. He has achieved acclaim in the mediums of sculpture in bronze and wood, oil, and opaque watercolor. His professional accomplishments include public, corporate, museum, and private commissions, and major exhibitions nationally and worldwide. He has done major site design work for government, corporate, and private organizations. His style slides easily from representational to stylized realism, and impressionistic.

Major commissions include “Lord of the Shallows”, a bronze and granite public sculpture, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, “Freedom” bronze public sculpture, Upper Marlboro, MD, “The Patient Fisher”, bronze public sculpture, Cambridge, MD, “Golden Eagle” bronze corporate commission, Sandy Spring, MD, “Baltimore Oriole”, wood sculpture, Maryland State House, “King Falls” bronze and stone corporate commission, The Isaac Walton League of America, Gaithersburg, MD, “Caring Hands” bronze corporate commission, Prince George’s County Hospital, MD, “Wood Ducks and Magnolia, bronze commission, Wash. Co. Museum of Fine Art, MD, The Police Memorial in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and the Maryland State Police Trooper 2 Memorial. The World War II Memorial Monument, for the American Legion.

Exhibitions and Museums include The Philadelphia Academy of arts and Sciences, The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, The Cape Cod Museum, The Washington County Museum of Fine Art, The World Wildlife Expo, The Ward Foundation Museum, The Masters Show at Ligonier, PA The National Audubon Society, The Audubon Naturalist Society, The Connecticut Audubon Society, The National Wildlife Federation, The Florida Wildlife Expo, The Maryland Wildlife Artists Show, The National Aviary, The Smithsonian Institution, The World Expo, Genoa Italy, The Washington County Museum of Fine Art, The Isaac Walton League of America, and many others including fine art galleries and corporate collections.

Honors include over sixty US National, and World Competitions. Mullican is frequently asked to judge these events, and was a judge for the US National Duck Stamp competition in 2011. He was awarded the Governor’s Citation in Maryland on three occasions from two different governors. He was featured, artist, sculptor or featured wood carver at The Chesapeake Wildlife Art Expo, The Easton Waterfowl Festival, and the Annapolis, MD Wildlife Festival, The Southeastern Wildlife Art Expo, and the Florida Wildlife and Western Art Expo. His work represented the United States at the 1992 World Expo in Genoa, Italy. Ducks Unlimited, Sponsor Artist of the Year, Conservation, and Service Award, Distinguished Service Award, the DU Palette and Chisel Award, and Federal Duck Stamp Judge, are among many organizational honors.

Mullican has served as Board Member and Treasurer of the Maryland State Arts Council, Board Member for the Washington County Arts Council, and the Valley Art Association, (Artists of the Cumberland Valley), and is a member of the National Sculpture Society.

Reproduction and worldwide distribution by Royal Doulton and Doulton International, Staffordshire England, The Lance Corp., The Bradford Exchange, The Hamilton Mint, Tattler Gallery, The Phillips Gallery, Endion Fine Art, The Arts Council Gallery, and Mansion House Gallery. Studied with Hans Schuler Guerin, the Schuler School of Fine Art, Baltimore, MD.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Kate Grimm, the passionate creator behind Bewitching Flour. Since facing my own health challenges and becoming disabled in 2020, l've dedicated myself to exploring the healing and creative potentials of cannabis, both in wellness and in the kitchen.

Currently on track to earn my Master's degree in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics in 2026, I also hold a certification from the American Culinary Federation-The Standard of Excellence for Chefs in Culinary Cannabis and Edibles. This blend of scientific knowledge and culinary craftsmanship allows me to craft products that are both thoughtfully infused and safely prepared.

At Bewitching Flour, I weave my love of baking, magic, and healing into every treat. My goal is to create enchanting baked goods that bring joy, wellness, and a touch of magic-crafted by someone who truly understands the power of healing foods.
