Business Legislation Forum with NFIB and the Frederick Chamber

Business Legislation Forum with NFIB and the Frederick Chamber

Monday, March 4, 2024 (8:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (EST)

Description

Join NFIB and the Frederick and Washington County Chambers of Commerce for a discussion with your local legislators about concerning legislation coming out of Annapolis.

Now is your chance to get in front of your representatives and put a face to your business. Don't miss out on this exclusive opportunity to make your legislators think of you and your business every time they vote! Breakfast will be provided. Delegates and Senators will be invited from Frederick and Washington County.

The state's fiscal outlook is bleak.

By FY 2028, Maryland will face a $2.2 billion budget deficit. How will the General Assembly solve this budget crisis? Join us to hear about possible tax increases and budget cuts, and how they may impact your business.

Our legislators will discuss:

  • changes to the unemployment insurance program
  • elimination of the state's tip credit
  • ban on the natural gas, heat oil, and propane
  • looming budget deficit
  • drug testing in the workplace

At the event, you can expect:

- Networking with others in the business community

- Sharing your small business concerns with your legislators

- Learning about what NFIB and your local Chambers are doing for you

This event is $20 per person ($25 for non-members) and advanced registration is required.
