Tuesday, September 10, 2024 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) (EDT)

Description

Boots to Suits is a networking and resource initiative created by Veterans, for Veterans and Supporters.

Has it been one year already?!?!

On behalf of all of our veterans, we would like to say a very big THANK YOU to all who have supported the Boots to Suits events over the past year!  Time flies when you're living life on purpose, so take time to connectwork as we VETwork at your Chamber!

Join us on Tuesday September 10th, 2024, as we talk to 3 distinguished veterans:

  • Dan Rinehart (Army) of Waynesboro Construction
  • Mike Radaker (USMC) of MEC, Inc
  • Aaron Palmer (USMC) of Green Line Security

to hear their thoughts on:

  • Boots to Suits - Transition to a New Mission
  • What is one of the most important issues facing our fellow veterans in Washington County?
  • How can we encourage more of our fellow veterans to consider business ownership and fellowship?
  • What types of resources/education/officials would you like to see available to us at Boots to Suits?

Building relationships is more important now than ever; join us as we celebrate each other on our journey!

About Dan:

Dan has lived in Washington County most of his life. Upon graduating from Smithsburg High School, he served in the US Army from 1992-1995, which included two years in Germany.

He has worked in the local construction industry since his discharge from the military, starting as a laborer, eventually working in various senior management roles. He and his wife have six children and one grandchild.

About Mike:

Hello, my name is Mike Radaker. President of MEC, Inc. Electrical Services in Hagerstown. I've been a resident here in Hagerstown since 1999. I have been married for 22 years to my lovely wife, Emily and blessed with 2 beautiful girls, one is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee and our youngest is a senior in High School.

I was born and raised in Dubois, which was and still is a small, blue-collar town located in western Pennsylvania. I graduated Dubois Area High School in 1990 and went on to Bethany College in West Virginia for a semester (I thought I could get by just playing baseball and not studying). I felt the need to serve my country and did so by enlisting and becoming a United States Marine from 1991 thru 1995, seeing all parts of the world.

After completing my honorable service in the Marine Corp, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina to begin college again, focusing on a turf management degree. Before I had gotten started, I became very intrigued with the electrical trade while working for a manufacturing outfit in Charleston.

With that desire, I left Charleston, South Carolina in 1997 and moved back to western Pennsylvania to attend Triangle Tech, where I successfully received an associate degree in Electrical Maintenance and Construction Technology in 1999.

After graduating from Triangle Tech, I surfaced in Frederick Md. and took a position with Crum Electric in their industrial electrical division until 2011. In early 2011, I received a call to become a Service Manager with MEC, Inc. here in Hagerstown. I worked in this position until May of 2016, when I purchased MEC from the previous owner and founder of 25 years.

My hobbies include spending time with my family and their activities, playing golf, working out and relaxing on a beach under the rays with a beverage.

About Aaron:

A Veteran Owned & Operated company, Green Line Security Solutions has been in business since 2016. Mr. Palmer has built & leads a team of exceptional security professionals, who together have successfully protected many different businesses & community events with their customized security guard services.
